LIVERPOOL FC

Since Liverpool FC obtained new owners and "King Kenny" returned to manage the club, I have been thinking that maybe the club should update their visual identity. The current crest holds great meaning displaying the club anthem, as well as the two torches dedicated to the disasters that have befallen the club and their supporters.

However, in my opinion it is also a representation of one of the clubs least successful periods. Therefore, the identity that I have designed here is representative of Liverpool FCs illustrious history. I have updated the crest using a contemporary simplistic style, that is heavily influenced by the crests of the past.

To compliment the new crest, I used a slab serif typeface that again hints at the past, whilst indicating that the club are pushing forward in a new direction to re-capture their glory days.

I have also given the Shankly Gates a slight update, so that it fits with the new club crest. I wouldn't expect the actual gates to be updated, but I did it because I thought this would make an excellent design element for use on the club website and also on the back of the kit. liverpool_fc_003 liverpool_fc_011 liverpool_fc_015
